At a recent meeting of the Tipp Gaa County board & Clubs. The following proposal by Tipp CCC Committee was voted on and was passed.

What does it mean. Who does it effect and from when.

- Starts from Jan 2026
- Effects Boys teams only in general (with exception of our u5 Boys and Girls Group now moving to u6 boys and girls)
- In general the Group/Players/Coaches your son was with This year, he will remain with the same group of next year (2026) but will move up to Even age group now

NOTE - Lots still to be confirmed and by South and County boards so pls take the detail in this as provisional / overview, with possible additions or certain things TBC in New Year.

U6 Boys & Girls - Kids Born 2020/2021/2022

U8 Boys - Boys Born 2018/2019
U8 Girls as above

U10 Boys - Boys Born 2016/2017
U10 Girls as above

U12 Boys - Boys Born 2014/2015
u12 Girls as above
U12 will have official fixtures and leagues, but Scores not published and win / loss recorded by ref only.
Every team plays same amount of games and plays a semi final and final game against teams with similar win/loss record to them.  No Cups presented to winners on day. Similar to Michael Hogan Festival Format for Semi Final on.

COMPETION AGES FOR BOYS (Girls will be similar but either can or will possibly play Odd ages league or one off Competition)

U14 - Born 2012/2013

u16 - Born 2010/2011

U18 - Is run by The Adult County & South Boards we believe, so is unlikely to be under Juvenile side of our club.
U18 - Born 2008/2009
We are told U17 County Leagues in Football & Hurling will continue at start of each year for players Born 2009/2010 & 2011 if needed.

U19 Age Group removed long term with possibly something ran for just next year like Super 10 Comp to help 2007 Players who miss out on this grade due to Change happening next year.
U21 Remains for players Born 2005/2006/2007/2008

Feile & Peil will remain U15 Competitions for 2011/2012 players we are told or for 2026 anyway and are Ran in April / May normally.
U14 Super 10 Competition will remain in both Codes for 2012/2013 players.

We hope above gives some idea of the Changes.  Pls see recent Newspaper article from Nenagh Guardian on the Topic and reasoning and debate that was had on night and by Boards/Clubs in lead up. It untimely came to County wide vote and was passed based on majority rule.
